The Fix Lighthouse
Bringing Meals to Richmond’s Homeless Community
James 2:5
“Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?”
We at The Fix Ministry are called to address the root causes of the homeless by engaging in Christian discipleship and mentoring. Focusing on spiritual, emotional, and relational needs builds a solid foundation for real and sustainable change in the life of a homeless man or woman. Using our methods of outreach, we have seen everything transform within a person. From restored family relationships, to new outlooks on work and service, amazing things are happening in the lives of the homeless here in RVA!
One of the visions God has given us at The Fix Ministry is to reach out to the people who the world has abandoned. There are people in our own community that have no home and struggle day to day to get a meal and basic needs. Our heart is to serve those in need. Through The Fix’s City Lighthouse Mission, an urban ministry outreach, the staff, and students share the love of Christ.
Through God’s grace, we have been called to uncover the hope of Jesus Christ as we pursue and build relationships with the homeless. We started ministering to the homeless community in 2017. Fred’s addiction had led him to be homeless on the streets of Richmond. Once he was delivered from addiction and homelessness God called him to help others who are in the same predicament. Our strategy is simple discipleship. We combine building personal relationships, meeting basic needs, offering tools for self-sufficiency, and providing opportunities for community involvement. At The Fix Ministry, our desire is not just to take people out of the streets, but to take the street out of people. Everyone wants to ‘fix’ the problems of the homeless, but not many people are dealing with the root issues.
Thank you for joining us on this journey, and we can’t wait to share our lives with you!
