Community Outreach
- :
The Fix Ministry believes that one of the cornerstones of becoming a “new creation in Christ” is Outreach. In reaching out to the community we can use our past experiences to help those who are suffering from the same issues God has delivered us from. Whether it is our urban outreach, “The Lighthouse”, us speaking at local schools, or participating in drug awareness events we believe we can help spread the love of Christ.
We are looking for creative ways to reach into the communities around us. Our primary outreach efforts are focused on substance abuse prevention, and we travel to schools, churches and other public events with teams of students to spread the message that drugs are not the answer.
Drug Awareness Outreaches
Last year we participated in many drug awareness programs, conventions and summits. We set up a table to minister and pass out literature about drug and substance abuse prevention. They include:
- Hope Over Heroin in Charlotte N.C.
- Jon Crist, Christian Comedian
- Newsboys Concert
- Harvest Fest Outreach, Virginia Center Commons
- SBC Homecoming
- Mechanicsville Breast Cancer Awareness
School Drug Awareness Program
In January, we were invited to New Kent High School to speak to high schoolers about choices and the pitfalls of drug and alcohol. We believe that by reaching the young adults in the classroom we can prevent them from picking up drugs.
We would love to come to your area to share with your students. Not only can we educate them with real life testimonies but it helps our men as well.
Churches
Last year we traveled to several churches to share about The Fix Ministry and to share about what God is doing at our place and with our guys. Every service was unique and powerful. We saw lives changed and people delivered from bondage.
At these services, our worship band can play, share testimonies and have a message by one of our pastors. We will always accommodate for different service styles and time frames. Please contact us if interested in having us come out!!
